`Prisoner, tell me, who was it that bound you?'
`It was my master,' said the prisoner. `I thought I could outdo everybody in the world in wealth and power, and I amassed in my own treasure-house the money due to my king. When sleep overcame me I lay upon the bed that was for my lord, and on waking up I found I was a prisoner in my own treasure-house.'

`Prisoner, tell me, who was it that wrought this unbreakable chain?'
`It was I,' said the prisoner, `who forged this chain very carefully.I thought my invincible power would hold the world captive leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip.'

“囚徒，告诉我，是谁捆起了你？”
“是我的主人。”囚徒说道，“我想在财富和权利上我胜过世上所有人，我把归于国王的钱财聚敛到自己的金库。犯起困来，我就躺在那张为主人备下的床上，醒来时，我发现我在自己的宝库里成了一个囚徒，”

“是我。”囚徒说道，“是我倾力打造的。我原以为我所向披靡的权利能征服整个世界得到完全的自由。因此我日夜淬火锻造这链锁。最后大功告成，链环完好牢不可破时，我发现我却深陷桎梏。”

By all means they try to hold me secure who love me in this world.But it is otherwise with thy love which is greater than theirs, and thou keep me free.

这个尘世爱我的人，定会用尽方法将我牢牢抓住。但你的爱有别于他们，你的爱更伟大，你让我自由。

唯恐我将他们忘记，他们从不敢离开我。但随着日子一天天过去，我们却连面都没见过。

每次读都觉得泰戈尔像是一位基督徒，然并不 茫然

这个‘你’是在说谁呢？生命？智慧？

问好土土版主()我目前译到47首。即使从31首看过来也不难发现泰戈尔对心灵自由的追求。作为诗人和哲学家他必然是对宇宙自然、人类社会以及真理有过深入思考和介入的。心灵的自由，内心有着充盈的感情而不为外物所役一直是他的追求，正如王阳明所说：生命所有的智慧，不过是找回自己的心。

是啊，谢谢探讨~ 我是被自己迷惑了，一看到‘主啊、thee、thy、my lord my master’就总联想去我本人接触最多的信仰——基督教的神。除了歌颂宇宙自然、爱情自由，其实也可能是写给印度教神的颂歌吧~
