追随雨

我听见雨离开了森林，
我看到它妆点这湖；
尾随飞来
鸟鸣的三个音符。
但我仍留在舱中，
害怕阳光里
曝露的湖和敞开的天空；
门必须关闭。
雨和鸟儿离开了森林，
它们都比我有智慧；
雨会变成海水，
鸟儿会在云天高飞。

Follow The Rain

I hear the rain leave the forest;
I see it stipple the lake.
Three notes of a birdcall
come in its wake.
But I remain in the cabin,
fearing the lake exposed
to sun and an open heaven.
Doors must be closed.
Rain and bird leave the forest.
Both are wiser than I;
rain to become seawater,
bird to reach sky.
