有时我在翻译中纠结定冠词的用与不用，可能源于我在英语国家只待过半个月。对于定冠词的大部分感觉来自于语法教学经验和看过的几百部美剧英剧，还远远不够吧~

看来天要下雨了。

The drains overflowed after the heavy rain.
大雨过后，下水道溢出水来。

Heavy rain and excessive use have impoverished the soil.
土地因招暴雨侵蚀及使用过度已贫瘠不堪。

The thunder and lightning died away in heavy rain.
雷电在暴雨中渐渐减弱了。

泛指的时候不用冠词。特别是在诗歌中，作为一个意象，多是泛指。
